Sewing

Man, such boring photos! But I wanted to show you some (actually a fairly small portion!) of the sewing I've been doing since being back.

I've been doing loads of sewing for the little ones. School holiday fun was stamping the cats and "thunder bolts" (her idea, didn't come out all that well but still cool!) and sewing up the blue dress. And when I gave my niece the cat dress she straight away said "I want to wear it!" Can't get much better than that!

After all that I finally got around to sewing something for myself! This top turned out awesome and I will take some finished photos soon!

As well as sewing I've been baking up a storm. No photo evidence but a lovely full belly, which is awesome and delicious.
Slurp!

Saturday

Sewing update! And I cut off my hair! I like how in the middle photo it makes me look like I have no nose what-so-ever. Cause I don't. So it's accurate. (hahaha)
Anyway. I had my biggest sewing achievement ever this weekend. A while back I made these pants but they were totally ill fitting and I thought I'd just chosen a shitty fabric and sucks and making pants and that there as no way to save them.
HOWEVER after a month of them sitting on my sewing chair I tackled them yesterday. And they have turned out amazing! They fit like a dream (though they are still slightly loose around the waist but I think this might be okay cause then I can eat, like, heaps of cheese burgers without worrying about my pants splitting!) and are just super confortable. Thank you weird stretch fabric that kind of looks like gym pant fabric!
I also made another bra, which I'm wearing in them picture. Made a couple alterations. It's still not perfect but it's definitely getting there!
And also, I removable leather bib! It also fits onto the black shorts I made and I want to be able to put it on a black skirt I have too, if I can be bovvered sewing more buttons then that should happen pretty soon.
oh shiet! I almost forgot the dress. It is also perfect (hah! cause I'm awesome and have NO faults). Exactly what I want so nice and loose and floaty and from the most amazing silk ever.
ssqquuueeeeeeeeee
so excited :)
next I plan on making something much more colourful.

Sunday

More sewing. It's pretty sweet wearing completely home made outfits.
Adventuring into bra making has been sweet. This was the first I had made and it turned out pretty well. All it needs it adjustable straps and it would be perfect. I have a couple of other patterns to try out this week but I'm also endeavoring to make some pants and a dress. We will see how the week plays out!
Also, those shorts turned out amazing. They are a little big so I have to wear a belt. But thats better than small I say!

Wednesday

Sorry I haven't had any photos lately! I've been pouring my money into some health issues so film development is low priority. But hopefully in the next week or so I will take on in.
I have been sewing though! Up a storm even!
These two are for my lovely cousin Bekah's birthday. Super late. But they're done! They are both made of the most lovely fabric. Linen and a really light cotton for the top of the romper.
I've more to show you coming :)
But now, we are heading up to the families for a wee holiday.

Tuesday

Hurrah, I never have to do art history again! While I love art, putting it into an academic context apparently just ain't my thang.
BUT with my free couple days before I start studying for classics I've been baking and sewing.
This here top is the first thing I've made completely from scratch (clothing wise) since high school, I think its pretty darn neato too.

Yesterday we went for a mushroom hunt in the bush just on the edge of town. While I'm not going to go it TO much detail we had a wicked and successful time frolicking through the bush, singing and seeing great wonders such as an 800 year old Rimu tree. Go Rimu!
But I was inappropriately dressed and my boots got ravaged with mud so this morning I had a sore hip (from the crazy path in silly shoes? I dunno. Maybe I'm just getting old! Sheeet!)

But, tomorrow its back to the books. Though hell I have no classes and theres NO WAY I'll be doing 12 hours of study a day.....
